Description:  This is on-demand course provides Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physical Therapists (PT) with foundational knowledge of anatomy and kinematics of the hand, nature of tissue, nature of injuries of the hand, frameworks, formulas, and how to utilize manual therapy techniques to treat common types of hand injuries and conditions. 

Participant will have lifetime access to course content in order to continue practicing clinical skills. 

Audience:

This is a course workshop for OTs, OTAs, PTs, PTAs, and CHTs for all levels who are interested in advancing manual therapy skills for common injuries or conditions of the hand. 

Therapist will receive 4 CEUs upon completion of the course and be able to submit once.

 Learning Objectives:

After the conclusion of this course, participants will:

  • Identify relevant functional anatomy, kinematics, and biomechanics that directly relate to addressing the most common hand injuries and conditions. 
  • Evaluate all relevant patient history and examination information obtained through clinical testing to formulate a treatment plan. 
  • Establish a consistent, accurate, and systematic approach to palpating structures critical for manual therapy of the hand.
  • Demonstrate manual therapy techniques addressing joint and soft tissue limitations that are appropriate for the clinical presentation of each patient. 
  • Explain and educate patients appropriately based on examination findings to promote self-management and adherence.
  • Be able to document and bill for treatment services accurately.
